I think some people definitely jump on the bandwagon because it's a popular opinion in certain circles, but I don't think that's true for most. There are plenty of people with genuine concerns about things like jobs, copyright, privacy, or misinformation. Probably a mix of both.

If there's barely any online presence, the job description is extremely vague, or they start talking about money or asking for personal information too early, those are usually red flags. Trust your gut if something feels off.

Keeping them trimmed short and using bitter-tasting nail polish can help. For me, the biggest thing would be noticing when I do it, since it usually happens automatically when I'm stressed or bored.

I agree. People get way too caught up in follower numbers early on. Every successful account started with 0 followers at some point. Social media is a long game, and it takes time to build an audience. Too many people expect thousands of followers after a few weeks, get disappointed, and quit...

Train surfing. I only did it once as a dumb teenager, and looking back, I have no idea what I was thinking. It felt exciting at the time, but it was incredibly reckless and absolutely not worth the risk. Definitely one of those things I'm glad I never repeated.

Back then, almost any cute pet could build a following. If you're doing it because you enjoy it, I'd say go for it. If it takes off, the extra income is just a bonus.
