I've always been a strong advocate of Wordpress over almost all other options. Even when Wordpress was installed by creating WP databses manually and editing the WP-config file. There are just too many custom & ease of use options that WP has to offer.

There are a few different ways. There's no guarantee any of them will work for you. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Random capitalization of letters in part of the URL structure, IP address in place of the domain, and a few other get/post ways but I can't talk about them here...
