The only options I seen which seems to work around the world more less be Starlink but one thing putting me of getting Starlink over Musk being very unbalanced person for example if I said something bad about him would not be surprised if the internet itself cut of since seen him do that many times on X which I am pretty sure he would do the same to someone if he found the other person did not like him.

His online fights are very weird and seem to normally happen at complete random for example his fight with Trump at the moment or his fight with that British Driver guy he said something very rude about him which I will not repeat here.

What I am after is broadband service of some kind powered by solar panels so works most places in the world and one easy for me to carry but if the service is very good would have no complains about upgrading to better or more expensive service from them later on.

Couple of good projects to watch are Femtostar satellite technology as a starlink alternative and Taara, an entirely new to connect to the internet using light beams. Not sure how or if they will be launched but they are definitely worth watching.

I imagine you’ll have to check with service providers how they power their infrastructure. I cam think of any that have specifically mentioned they are 100% powered by renewable energy.

I would just stay away from X if I was too critical of Elon tbh. His house. His rules. Amd he paid a lot of money for it. I would relax if you think he’s going to convince you ISP to cancel your internet though lol. He will an you from platform and that’s it really 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, that’s my issue with Starlink as well. I like the idea of it, but last I checked, there weren’t any good alternatives to it just yet.

Same.

I found some 4G or 5G but when it comes down to moving country it stops working or you get very slow speed from it often or prices can jump as well.

Thanks for sharing those websites will give a read enjoy reading about new tech ideas.

Same.

I know you can for example power say Raspberry Pi using tiny solar panels so I could imagine internet having similar system in place could work.

I chatted to a few friends about it most got nothing much more than mobile themed service which I am sure is cool if you want want to do light internet stuff but I am more to do more heavy stuff with it.

4g is going to be your only option really. Being cut off isn't really a concern because if 1 provider goes down most would follow.

You would need to configure the Starlink each time you connect anyway where as a 4/5g hot-spot is almost guranteed.

Musk isn't going to spend time, money and resources to find out if your a Starlink subscriber and cancel your account because you called him a cunt.

Why would he? You can hate him but in his book you are the mug paying him...

Put the tin foil hat away and not worry.

In India, solar-powered internet isn't likely to take off anytime soon.

We already have a major provider with a near-monopoly offering 5G internet plans for around $8 to $21 per month and that even includes free access to popular OTT platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, and many others for the TV. I personally pay about $21 per month for a plan that includes multiple streaming services, including Netflix, Amazon Prime ans so many more that we use on the TV. Not to mention, you can create dozens of Wi-Fi hotspots using their app linked to the router.

If you’re curious about my speed, here it goes:

Very cool and nice price you paying for decent service.

When I go India will try out that service. I knew a lot of Indians were doing amazing tech stuff in the past or present a like.

Yeahhh I also use fiber in Sri Lanka, it's usable, I can work using that. The problems start when there's power outage and I try to do hotspot from my phone. But I saw online there are mini UPS for routers so I guess I can have fiber even with power outage then. It's ok, there are better providers in Poland lol, but it's usable. Probably worse than the rest of Asia hence why Sri Lanka isn't top nomad destination. So won't die without that StarLink but it'd be very positive if there were more competing internet providers here.

Makes a lot of sense.

I heard people doing cool things with phones and making hotspots or other things with it.

What I am kind of after is internet thing I can easy very easy carry so for example if I take my ferrets on trip I can still use the internet with the ferrets such as planning to take the ferrets around India and Japan among other countrys.

I heard Romania got incredible internet many times

Ahhh, cool. Maldives has fantastic mobile internet, believe it or not! It's more of a middle of nowhere than Sri Lanka (Maldives has only/mostly fish, everything else is imported, it's literally tiny islands that are disappearing lol, very secluded) but internet is so smooth there, it's crazy.

Sounds great.
