Private Property No Solicitation Sign.jpg

I bought this sign for my front yard about a year ago as I used to have problems with solicitors. Seriously, they always came up to my door trying to sell me solar panels (it's always solar).

I was getting solicitors at my door at least 3 times each week, and it was getting frustrating. After I got this sign, I noticed that I was only getting them about a couple of times each month.

I checked my security camera for my front door, and noticed something really funny about this. So every solicitor has the exact same reaction to the sign:
  1. They walk up in my yard, not using the path because they're assholes.
  2. They spot the sign and freeze.
  3. They chuckle at the sign, walk forward a little bit, and then pause again.
  4. They talk to each other and look confused (because they always come in groups of 2 or 3).
  5. They take a picture of the sign and look upset.
  6. Sometimes, they call someone, which I'm guessing is a manager they ask about the sign.
  7. They point at the sign a lot, and then back away out of the yard.
They can laugh at the sign all they want, but if it wards them away from the door, then it's done its job.

Really, if you have this problem with solicitors, put one of these signs up.

Hey there! I’m with SunNova Energy.
We’re working with a bunch of your neighbors here in Lakewood to see if their homes qualify for the new solar incentive program. The great part is, if your roof qualifies, you can go solar with zero upfront cost and start saving on your SCE bill right away. Do you have a minute? I can check if your house qualifies too.

It’s that same script every time! They always ask for your SSN right away, too.
Yeah, I made a killing selling solar leads back in 2017.. Sorry Z
I need that angry reaction we used to have here. :ROFLMAO:

Actually, maybe it would be funnier to ask them in, act like a creep (adams family style) and invite them to discuss this in your hallway.
Sign a successful deal with freshly drawn blood on a white towel..

They won't come back, nor will their friends.

Smart idea I heard of people being creative to stop the annoying people coming.

I had two women come to my door about religion so I give them both the ferret talk I said to both "You both walking wrong path in life each of you needs two ferrets if you want to stay in the religion you need two ferrets" both tried to tell me more about their religion so I told them more about ferrets after 5 minute talk left me and the ferrets I saw one of them few weeks later happy my message got through saw her with 2 ferrets another client closed.

$0.

I just want to keep the pests out of my yard.

Missed a trick here.

Should have set up a bunch of sign options. Listed them on Amazon.

Then claim to have made $49,374 (random number make it more believable) and then add - just shy of $50k.

Wait....

Slowly see sales of Amazon do not trespass signs increase.

You are welcome.

Yeah I used to do door to door selling NPower. (swap utilities) I think anyone who wants to get into sales or selling should do door 2 door or canvas work.

It gets you out of your comfort zone, you learn to deal with people quickly, learn to take rejection and start to believe in 1 in 10 (law of averages) and you grind hard for it.

I don't think id have become as good at selling now or just talking to strangers without it.

Problem is now I can be a little nasty when these same people come to my door, I know the script, I know the patterns I just lead them on so they think they are getting someplace then close them down at the end. Shouldn't really as for about 5min that person probably thinks they are onto a winner.. But then don't knock my door at 7:55pm at night.

Not me.. I ran PPC campaigns for these leads, thankfully I suck at sales to this day.
I play to my strengths. Talking to strangers ain't one of them.
