I've been thinking and watching a few videos about cold calling.

To me

Cold calling seems like it would be the ultimate cold approach.

You could probably use cold DMS and email to then when you call be like yo did you get my emails and texts.

Anyone do cold calling here?

I think if you master cold calling you'd already be light years ahead of people who rely on solely cold DMS or email though.

Probably best to use all though.

PS: I believe if you truly believe in your product or service cold calling should be easier to deal with.

PPS: Yes I'm thinking more along the lines of b2b but if you have your customers permission then b2c is entirely on the table.

I'd love to try that, but I haven't yet due to all sorts of excuses I tell myself. The same excuses I use to not make YouTube videos.

So we have sent out around 200 boxes to companies. Inside is just some marketing info and a free gift.

We do a cold email and then a cold call (although I guess it's already warm)

They never asked for what we sent them mind.

Most will take our call. Talk about what we doing and the uniqueness of what we done as they are in a creative space.

No ones signed over money yet tho. But I'm hoping that comes later this year or early next.

Years ago, I hired someone from Fiverr to do cold calling.

Needless to say, they didn't close a single lead. I had hundreds of them.

The price was too attractive, but amounted to zero.

May I ask what the price was and what was expected from the calls, were there incentives on % of possible sale or just payment for the call?

Did you provide a script or them?

Did you know what they where saying?

Only ask as some talk bollocks or just waffle and aren't as confident as they make out when you hire them.

I ordered a script from another service.

I don't remember the details what went down exactly since it was few years back but I remember having a negative experience.

I am not sure... I think I offered them some incentives but that never materialized because its a Fiverr environment, and they know they are doing a poor job, so they likely focus on securing sales on Fiverr first... everything else is secondary. I am more than sure that most people offer them a percentage of the sales closed. It would be wise to do so.

For the price and feedback I gave them:

LMFAO AT THE SOUNDS PLEASING.

If your going to use a script for cold calling that's a big big no just do some roleplays with interested people and learn from there

It has to be natural where you want to lead the conversation and see how you can really help the prospect...

I myself disagree with that.

You need a script to follow so you cover points, the idea is so anyone can pick it up and run with it. That's all sales is really. Its following a set or rules, lines, points or script. Even your roll plays are going to be scripted to a degree.

Having a script or a plan can help you spot negatives and turn them around on the prospect.

Granted you have to have a bit of your own charisma with and not sound like a robot.

But I think they are needed myself.

If you don't know what to say or go with you could end up selling something you or the client doesn't even offer...

Having a script you can tweak is crucial when you find the right tweaks and want to scale with more sellers. Do not under estimate the power of a good script tweaked to your service/product.

How will you handle the objections though as no prospect is the same

Are you going to look at the script and waste time?

Most people will have the same objections.

That's why you record or take feedback points and adjust it.

There will always be common:

Can't afford it.
Don't need it.
Not sure it's for me.
Can't make decisions.

The best thing is to just listen to what they're saying and go with the flow and help them genuinely as opposed to forcing a sale

More or so like a framework that's what I like as opposed to copying the script word to word

I don't know if you remember a guy named BreaknBrix on the other forum, but he posted some content on cold calling years ago that was really helpful in putting how useful of a skill that is into perspective.

I don't think it's inherently bad as I've spoken to some who feel like it has a bad reputation, but there's a difference between calling everyone and anyone and calling potential leads. BreaknBrix's posts on the matter went over how much of a confidence builder it is as well; after all, what are you afraid of? Someone lashing out at you? People who react like that aren't going to remember you by the end of the day, so what does it matter?

I don't do cold calling myself these days, but I did try it a few times in the past, and I can't say I had any negative reactions to it.

Think your taking script a bit to literally.

It can just be a flow to the conversation to follow.

In sales sometimes you have to force it.

It's your jobs to turn any negatives (negs) into pros and then close the sale.

I got taught if you get 3 no's they not interested and move on.

If you convert 1 no to a yes then go for it.

You need to capitalise on impulse also.

Scripts or a sales plan, story whatever you want to call it work.
