Understanding how Encryption Email (Protonmail) Works

Just getting into encryption?
Wondering how you can apply @Champagne teaching's on encrypt your files to your emails as well?

Here is one of the simple ways of teaching I have seen that breaks down step by step how Proton Mail's Encryption works.


It is really a good read, and he has other things he breaks down like Firefox Sync that are a good read too.

Don't use privacy based tools.
It's inconvenient and it super restrictive
Not to mention many countries are starting to OUST them.

Honestly, I can't even argue there

Privacy-based tools don't have the resources Google does (yet Google loves to continue to fumble)

Privacy-based tools don't have the same conveniency Google does (that's because you are just accustomed to Google)

Privacy-based tools are super restrictive, yes, they are, but there always a trade off, right?
Your information is used to be fed into your so-loved Gemini AI.

Many countries are starting to OUST them. That itself is 100% true and I completely believe it will just get worse as the years goes by.

The average person doesn't understand enough to care, and the % that understands, and cares are way too small to make a difference.

But at the end of the day, it all depends on your threat model and how much you care to be profiled.
