Am I allowed to reach out to members to ask whether or not they sell a service?
It's a 100% the buyer who initiated this sale.
Is there a minimum rank? Platinum, Sapphire? Can I reach out to regular member to inquire about their services? Can they sell me after my message?

Yeah, FFS spam me dude of any job over $10K you want, no probs at all, I ain`t reporting ya.

It becomes more complex since many of us met on another platform, where we dealt with each other
A good example is that I'm currently a buyer of @animesh . Am I allowed to talk to him about our ongoing deal on DM?

To be honest, I've never had really had an issue with someone soliciting via DM. It's promoting via DM that's not allowed here. But I'm fine with what you described or even with you continuing to talk about an ongoing deal, even if it started on another platform.

I'm fine with allowing this, but do you feel there should be a minimum rank? Ideally, I don't want to add in too many complicated rules, so my first thought is to leave this option available to everyone here.

I think that we should allow buyers to contact sellers regardless of rank, and not the other way around (initiating a sale).

On another forum I'm a member of, you're not allowed to but from non upgraded members, which is appropriate there, but not sure if it's appropriate here.

Sounds good to me. I'll leave this discussion open for now just to see what other members think, but I'll add something under rule 3 clarifying that soliciting is fine regardless of rank.

I was wondering this too because I have people reaching out to me here for services I dont have a sales thread approved and so far I have denied working with them (in here), not to break the TOS.

I appreciate you declining it just in case, but if there's ever anything you're ever unsure about, you can always message me or @Impulse.

If they contacted you recently, feel free to message them back and take them on as clients or customers if you'd like.

My thoughts on this, is that the selling member should be upgraded to work in the forum. If the seller can not afford to upgrade, gift him a membership if he/she is that important or work with him/her outside the forum like on email or something. This forum needs the upgrade cash.

100%. Just hanging out is one thing, but if someone is getting clients here they should be Sapphire. How else is forum supposed to function?

Yeah, had a bit of that going on the other forum since I had some posts on youtube botting, people wanted to buy a bot or to be taught, etc.

I think it should be allowed for new, non-Sapphire users to send messages since at the other place sometimes I was unsure if someone tries to contact me or not but some people couldn't message me because new users can't send dms. On facebook when I comment on posts (kinda similar to HAF) sometimes I receive dms from completely different people, not the ones that wrote these posts. So I'm unsure if the same thing was happening at the other forum but they couldn't dm because of that stupid rule.

Yeah, making the ability to sell to those who solicit your services a Sapphire and above perk would be consistent with the rules we have now on selling on OO, so I think that would be fair.

In regard to the forum’s income, I’ve paid for everything in advance, so the forum is covered there. All of the mods and admins are doing this on a volunteer basis (even @Impulse and I since we put anything we get from here back into the forum; you can see this on the donation page). It would be very nice to pay the staff at some point and run advertising campaigns, but we all understand that the forum is in its early days still.
