I did think this might be handy to do a "@allusers" kind of tag but then thought how much abuse it would get from forum users (me)

However when there was a new rule change yesterday and you had to agree to terms before continuing I did think it might be handy for staff or admin accounts to do a "@allusers" so everyone gets the little notification icon they been tagged.

Can be used go check out a post change with rule updates, forum announcements or something just to get everyones attention rather than a post in a thread that might get lost?

Could even be introduced at member level as well if something was just concerning sapphire, founders and so on?

Not sure now I type it if it's warranted or if you can do that already - from a quick search it's an optional plugin?

There’s a mass alert feature that’s built into Xenforo’s backend that can be used instead. I can use it to specify all members based on activity, membership level, etc.

I think it’s a good idea to make this part of our standard procedure, especially now that updates to the forum aren’t happening every day, so the alerts wouldn’t be overwhelming.

You just want more ferret notices, hmm.

Okay, I've decided to try using the mass alerts feature. I won't use it every time there's something in the changelog, just once a week at most.

I'll give it a try right now. Thanks for the suggestion.

The mass alert looks great, I think it does the trick very well.

I like it, but it doesn't get marked as read when you click on it like a normal notification does with the setting "Never mark alerts as read". Of course, you know that particular setting means they get marked as read when clicking instead of just reading the actual alert.

Anyway, it works on most alerts, such as reactions and replies, but not for alerts from the forum.

I know I can click "Mark read", but it's about the inconsistency.

The point of the alert was to make the users read the new rules, not just let them know there are some new rules.
