I often wondered if the rampant overuse of the word 'bro' in web tech circles, especially by people in developing countries who appear to do it the most was some way for them to feel like they were a part of the real-life Silicon Valley 'tech bros'... wannabes in other words, thinking the toxic, arrogant, flamboyant personas abound among them is somehow some kind of aspiration worth having. I can't think of any other explanation.
I get it… but not in all cases though. Sometimes it even strengthens the bond because clients can turn into pals and I’ve experienced that quite a few times
I’m not always the one who initiates it but after working together for a while, they just get comfortable with me and the “bromance” kicks in : D
These are guys I don’t even work with regularly anymore... maybe once in a while they will have something they want me to help with but we still check in on each other and have little chit-chats about life and stuff like that and these guys were originally clients
For me, I’m just flexible with it. Every client is different and especially since most of the clients I work with from forums have different personalities I just flow with each one : )
For example, me working with @UnusualSubstance would probably be different from working with you... mostly in how we set the tone in our conversations.
