Some of us are used to call this (y) thanks as a remainder from old times, but the truth is that it is, in fact, a LIKE reaction.

How about adding a Thanks reaction?
Either one of this could work IMO: 🙌🙏

Like is for when you like something, thanks is for when you're thankful.
 
We can rename the 'like' reaction to 'thanks' pretty easily.

I'll see how many votes this gets and do it, just to make this more of a community decision. Let's say... 10 upvotes on this thread and I'll implement it. :)
 
In my opinion a like is a thanks, it`s pretty much standard, and been since forever out there not just at the other place.
 
I'm fighting for a distinction between like and thanks and you are suggesting to immortalize the injustice?

I'm always Thankful,
So renaming like reaction to "thanks" is Good & no objection..

We can able to see "Thanks" Everywhere.. That's so powerful word " Thanks " than " Like"
 
There is another option: I can add in another custom reaction as I have no problem adding a new one.

We have 7 right now, and I'd say 9 would probably be the limit based on how it looks on mobile. That means we can add 2 more custom reactions without it looking overwhelming.

Can it, in theory, be just a custom emoji like on whatsapp?
We have the most recent ones (in our case, the defaults), but users can choose to react with a different emoji from the list whatsapp supports.

I'm uncertain about how feasible that would be to implement. There might be an add-on out there that does something similar, but I'd rather not add any more add-ons at the moment.
 
@Impulse made custom reactions for the forum today, and she's making a custom "thanks" reaction. We'll add this reaction to the options in a bit, so it'll be implemented soon.

The new emotes looks sharp and nicee :)
maybe, sometime down along in the future
we can replace them with full custom emotes exclusive to OO
that could be cool
