Please Read Members From Other Forums Who Weren't Banned For Scamming Are Allowed Here

I mentioned this in a feedback thread last week, but someone who was banned on any other forum is allowed here so long as they weren't banned for scamming.

This is a new forum and not "the other one". When I started this forum, I wanted it to not only be a place be built up together, but also a second chance for those who were banned on other platforms.

After all, being banned on a platform does not make someone a bad person. They could've been banned for a mistake they made and have since learnt from or even been unjustly banned.

Regardless, this is a new forum we're building from the ground up, and we should give others a chance to be a part of the community on this forum rather than punishing them for a ban they received on a completely different forum (again, excluding scammers).

I've a question.,

How do we know, the member is previously Banned in other forums - If they signed up here with different usernames ?

Also, BHW is not only the other forum..

I rarely gave mod abuse warnings because in a lot of cases where someone hit that point, something was going on in their lives causing them to lash out. They weren't bad people and I felt It was better to talk to them and keep a good member than it was to issue that warning and put them off even more.

But to answer your question, if they were just banned for mod abuse, I still feel they deserve a chance here. However, I have considered that there are a handful of people who escalated their "mod abuse" into off-site and even offline harassment. I think if any of those people joined, I would discuss my hesitation with the members who are here right now and if we should allow them on OO. Personally, if they changed and just wanted to be here, I'd have less of an issue; but that's the problem as I don't feel like those few people have changed, especially as I know two of them who have continued harassing others even recently.

I was very good at catching previously banned members as I remember the ban reasons many of them were given, even the ones I didn't ban myself. I still remember many of their e-mails, real names, usernames, etc.

We can check the names and sometimes the ban reasons just by looking at other IM forums. But also, I don't know if you remember this, I mentioned a few backs that I wanted to get to a point where OO can collaborate with other internet marketing forums. If we can get that kind of thing going, sharing information on ban reasons wouldn't be out of the question.
