Implemented Referral System could be nice for growth maybe

I can see how that would deter abuse but also loose out on the event engagement too

Isn't that the case usually I mean the days of people getting paid for bringing a referral without paying an amount are literally over

Yes, Something like incentivizing referrals not like getting paid for bringing a referral - pretty Good Idea actually..

@Rem mentioned this is something we've been looking into.

I'll take a look at that add-on a bit later and see how we can implement it.

We’ve talked about ways we could implement this, but without a more complicated system, it would be too open to abuse.

I think the best way to implement this is if we gave some kind of small benefit to for every member who purchased Sapphire Status through their referral link. Maybe a discount, but I’d need to look into that one more time.

Oh no, please no.

If we ever had to implement some kind of system like that, I like the idea of calling them “Credits”, but we would need a really good reason for adding such a thing to the forum.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m tired of all these different little currencies everywhere.

I know one member suggested it to help prevent scams, but one thing I want to do instead is have a “relief fund” or something aside for scam victims. At the very least, getting them a replacement t for whatever they tried purchasing isn’t off the table as I used to do something similar occasionally with disputes.

I’ll be taking another look at this today and possibly getting it added in. I believe I’ve thought of how a way we can limit abuse. I’ll make a site guide about it once it’s been implemented.

Something neat is that this add-on works with the trophy system as well.

I've added the referral system in. It works, but it doesn't provide any benefits just yet.

I was thinking of doing 10% off of the referrer's next purchase of Sapphire or Patron membership. I have a credits system add-on disabled but installed here, but I need to adjust it to see if it can be used to cash out credits toward membership. It should be able to do that from what I read, it's just a matter of setting it up.

Yeah, I wish I could do it retroactively. I suppose if I get the credit system up, I can give those of you who referred people some credits based on a rough estimate of how many people you referred here. It should be easy to estimate that.
