Implemented Ban crypto currencies / fiat currency exchanges

Exchanging between crypto and fiat, between crypto currencies, between fiat currencies and different wallets (paypal, payoneer, bank accounts) is a recipe for disaster.

We had one wanted thread that ended up in the tribunal and another one that probably isn't going to end well either.

Not sure about the legality of allowing this sort of things, but this will just end up blowing in our faces every time unless we just stop allowing it.

I didn't mean to blame you for anything, I just think that this sort of think are more likely to end in a scam than others .
 
And any type of letting set few members middleman or broker, just ends in exit scams

Would love this to offer as a service myself, but damn the dramatics

I would agree with that. Exchange services pose a significant risk to the forum and should therefore not be allowed for now (until we have a good solution for this).

I also agree that there are many scams with crypto payments. But I only use crypto for payments. as i also said earlier in one of my comments that am i able to the "Sapphire Member" via crypto because i mainly use that. I do not have access to paypal or wise. what will be the solution for me?

The suggestion is not for banning the usage of crypto but for allowing members to post Wanted thread with the sole purpose of exchanging crypto with fiat.

For example:
Need $15 worth of ETH, paying via PayPal

@roydan already answered this in that this suggestion doesn't affect payments made on the upgrades page; the suggestion pertains to currency exchange requests only.

Anyway, you can purchase Sapphire on the upgrades page with crypto.
