This platform has been around for a while and it's similar to reddit.
It pays users in cryptocurrency just for posting and commenting.
If you go on the homepage, you’ll see viral posts are earnings $200 - $1K

Yes I think the catch is how to figure out to go viral on that platform.
Most posts/comments get little or nothing.
From what I noticed only "Whale" accounts make a decent amount of money.

That’s a good point. If the platform is new and doesn’t have a whole lot of traffic yet, it’s going to be damn hard to go viral on it.

Yes, that's exactly it. Most of the posts don't get any traction. I tried this a few years ago, and it didn't work well enough for me to keep using it.
