I'm more worried about it being abusable than harsh. This can easily be used by the accuser to get back at the accused, so having it as a tool by the mod is better IMO.

I agree that this is too harsh, but it can be used by the mod that handles the dispute if the accused *or the accuser* start playing games instead of dealing with the dispute.

I'm upvoting it even though it makes no sense to upvote a question. Like just wasn't enough. We need the newsletter back, but the community can also do more in terms of reporting comments and threads that are highlight-worthy.

So the usuals?

It kinda solves it, but as the forum grows, mods with lock more and more threads, so allowing a mod post to not bump the thread makes sense in non-trading-post threads. An alternative would be to not allow locked threads in the homepage, but then we'll miss announcements threads as well.

Yes, I'm looking at you @Trading Post . The whole point of bumps is to improve visibility, and bumping closed sales threads seems like the exact opposite of what we want whether OP requested them closed or the moderation team decided that. Especially now that it takes time for threads to get to...
