I wouldn't consider myself the best writer but one tip I have for you is to determine your target audience and then read the type of content they read. That should give you a better idea of how to write in a way that appeals to them. At least it's something to start with.

Some people when they do IM don't bother registering an actual business. In fact I can tell a lot of my competition on Etsy just comes up with a random name and pretends it's a registered company. I registered my company as an LLC because of the extra legal protections but that got me thinking...

I don't really think these were ever in style to begin with. Just a lot of marketers were using them because they were easy. I think for a lot of regular users of the internet they were just tacky ads and way too long most of the time.
