YouTube is all about optimization and testing. Especially if you are a content creator, it is essential to have add-ons that help you understand why a video is performing well and why it isn't. Fortunately, several tools and add-ons can help streamline the process of analyzing and improving your content's performance. I am using them myself, and they have greatly improved my analysis of videos when it comes to SEO for Youtube.
1) VidIQ
VidIQ is one of the most popular YouTube add-ons. It offers a variety of tools and focuses on video optimization and analytics. You can find things like:
2) TubeBuddy
TubeBuddy is an all-in-one YouTube management tool. I've actually used it more than VidIQ before, but decided to make the switch to VidIQ indefinitely. However, it is still a beast:
3) Streamities
Especially if you are into live streaming, then you need this tool. It’s an essential tool for creators who want to increase their audience engagement during live events:
Personally, I have used all 3 of them and like each one for different reasons. VidIQ helps me with in-depth video analytics and SEO optimization, TubeBuddy makes managing and optimizing my channel super easy, especially with the bulk editing and A/B testing features, and Streamities is perfect for live streaming, offering interactive tools that keep my audience engaged. If you need some good tools to manage your Youtube stuff, then definitely try these out. If you have some good recommendations, please let me know as I am always on the lookout for new ones.
1) VidIQ
VidIQ is one of the most popular YouTube add-ons. It offers a variety of tools and focuses on video optimization and analytics. You can find things like:
- SEO Scores where it analyzes a video and provides a SEO score for your video. This is determined by things like: titles, descriptions, tags, and keywords.
- Keyword Research: Helps identify trending keywords that are relevant to your niche. Great for targeting a specific niche.
- Competitor Analysis: You can actually track how your videos perform in comparison to your competitors' channels. Great if you wanna follow ongoing trends.
2) TubeBuddy
TubeBuddy is an all-in-one YouTube management tool. I've actually used it more than VidIQ before, but decided to make the switch to VidIQ indefinitely. However, it is still a beast:
- Tag Suggestions: TubeBuddy suggests relevant tags based on your video content. VidIQ has a similar feature but it is not as accurate as TubeBuddy in my opinion.
- Bulk Processing Tools: TubeBuddy offers bulk editing options that allow you to update titles, tags, descriptions, and more for multiple videos at once. This is highly recommended if you have a lot of videos and need to add/delete certain parts of your description. It can be a pain, but with TubeBuddy, it's very easy.
- A/B Testing: TubeBuddy's most powerful feature is its ability to conduct A/B testing on video thumbnails and titles. You can set up 2 thumbnails and rotate them in an interval. Very good for testing a variety of thumbnails and it also delivers some great analytics.
3) Streamities

Especially if you are into live streaming, then you need this tool. It’s an essential tool for creators who want to increase their audience engagement during live events:
- Provides detailed analytics for live streams, including real-time viewer counts, engagement metrics, and chat activity. You could do this without a add-on as well but its annoying.
- Has some interactive features, such as live polls, chat moderation, and viewer shout-outs. Again, you can do all of this by yourself but Streamities makes it a whole lot easier.
Personally, I have used all 3 of them and like each one for different reasons.
