YouTube A clever way to increase watch time on YT

I just saw a video today that used a way of increasing watch time that I found very interesting.

It was a demonstration of a free sound effect plugin used in music production. It was pretty cool, so I went to the description, just to find this:

When you watch the video clip, you will see an icon labeled FREE. Click on it, and it will redirect you to the website where you can download the FREE Plugin.

You *have* to watch the video to get the DL link. So an average watch time of 20 seconds instantly becomes 1:30, in a pretty boring video.

I also saw a YouTube video where, at the start, the creator mentioned a giveaway of a course/ebook . But here's the twist: he said he'd share the download link somewhere in the middle of the video, so you had to watch the entire video to find it!

Nice way but how many times will one be able to do this say for instance I am planning to upload 1 video a day...it will be interesting to see how this can be applied in other niches
