Anyone know why I have so many pages indexed ?

The sites only been up 4 weeks and I have around 600 posts

But according to search console I have nearly 26,000 indexed pages ?
Is this normal ?

way back machine doesn't have a lot on the site

Have got possibly some spammy backlinks but they must be very old?

Do you have filters or anything like that, sort feature etc.

Google has an issue as of 12 months ago indexing filtered results etc. Bloody pain in the ass.


Easiest way is to click the green bar and show indexed pages and find out what it's doing.

No filters at all it a basic wordpress blog with two plugins thats it lol

Something's gone badly wrong ! fuck sake !

I think this is caused by Linkjuice plugin ? I've turned it off

Is it archives, images, tags etc.

Check the pages in search console it will tell you.

We can only guess.

Yeah looks like a plug in is fucking it up.

You can do a disallow for the URL type thst will cause it and then get Google to go view it again.

It's indexing a previous and edit file so could be a theme editor or something also..

I'll take a closer look tomorrow if you not fixed had a few drinks. A more sober user here might have more insight
