I learned SEO on BHW once upon a time while it was not spammed and it was full with amazing members.

Once upon a Time, I was a full time BHWer ..

I have been on various SEO forums for decades, including but not limited to Warrior Forum, Wicked Fire, Digital Point, BUSO, and others.

This is the only forum where I have kept a username from another forum though.

TBH, several years before - I've got good high paying clients from wickedfire ..Now the forum is down, completely spammed and sad to see Wicked . No fire..

I've not been on there for 10 years at least, Warrior once in the past 4 years at the most.

I did sign up to Internet Marketing Gold, which is good for learning SEO / IM stuff, with some good courses, but I didn't renew as I just never logged in.

In my opinion, BHW and Legiit work well for me. Warrior Forum has a lot of traffic, but I haven't had many sales there

It was bound to happen. A couple of weeks back, we had someone try to spam AI content and sell via DM. Both situations were taken care of quickly, but if you notice any of that here, report it.

I never really looked at Reddit as a ‘Forum’. One thing I like about specialist forums is you often get to know individual members much better including any type of experts. Even though you get lots of nuggets of wisdom, it’s just so impersonal. Like you’ll get an amazing reply from someone and a follow up and then never hear from them again.

I know a few forums that would compliment a good SEO/Ads forum that focus more on specific things like ‘money management’ or Web Development for IMrs but haven’t really come across any good forums that focus on SEO/Ads on a general level specifically. Some of the SEO tools have forums that can be useful from time to time but obviously is heavily centred around their product or service centric. Closest thing I have seen to a good ‘SEO’ forum ironically was HF IMHO biggest problem with BHW even though they typically classed themselves as an SEO forum is there scope was too big. Even though it says IM forum now, they’re still trying to cover and wear WAAAAY too many hats.
Since you’re asking specifically about SEO, an established IM forum that focuses on SEO more specifically and successfully… all types of search general, professional, media, sm, e-commerce etc as well as Ads for major platforms is not something i’ve ever come across

Not that much but still videos and other stuff uploaded there are good for newbies.

BHW in 2020-22 was the peak period any SEO foum can ever see. In the busy hours, there were consistently 5-6 posts per minute. Almost 20-30 active members are familiar to everyone. It has a community vibe with a feeling of real human interaction. The MMO threads, SEO tips, keyword research techniques, backlink opportunities, etc. were shared almost daily. A series of events like increasing Jr VIP price, banning some of the most active members, hundreds of bot accounts joining daily, making daily thread bumping, etc. happened. One thing lead to other and the interaction between members reduced which eventually killed the vibe.

I think the interaction between members similar to real world is the foundation of any forum. If we bury the home page with sales threads, irrelevant content, or limited access threads (like VIP or paid), then the interaction will be reduced. The admins should always consider the amount of threads where a newbie can learn something new or interact. If only 20-30% threads are engaging and rest are either casual or promotional content, then the forum engagement will significantly drop over time. We should give members more opportunities to talk instead of trying to sell them something.
