Beyond Meat Shares soar by 1000% in four days

Stock aside, I'm more excited about cultured meat, like some startup such as Upside Foods and Aleph Farms are doing

Isn't that basically like eating a tumour though?
Why? It's basically growing a steak in a lab, instead of growing the entire cow.

My whole problem with all thst stuff is they call it things it's not.

Often see vegan 'bacon' but it's not bacon.

Meat free fillets. And any other packaging nonsense.

In either case it's not for me.

Meat all the way.

Maybe you are right and it's not like a tumour but something about it seems a little unsettling imo

My girlfriend is vegan and sneakily got me a vegan royal from BK instead of a Chiken one and i'll be honest I didn't suspect a thing. She just admitted it later.

I think this stuff if for meat eaters and former meat eaters so hey're not 'missing out' on all the iconic and classic 20th century foods and also to satisfy cravings because let's admit that meat eating is pretty addictive

When I was ovo-vegetarian and later vegan I ate veggies, huh. Not meat substitutes and not soy products. Now that I'm omnivore again I eat, ugh, well veggies, meat, milk/cheese, grains, a lil bit of fruits, etc, etc. Tbh I eat too many sweets and drink Coke in between super duper eco water from a tropical forest. So not 100% clean diet sadly. But generally I like real food, meat substitutes and lab grown stuff creeps me out.

I consume a lot of these plant based meat. But a different brand. They taste 40-70% as what the real ones taste

My personal favourite is plant based pork belly. Almost 50% close to the real one.

I was a heavy meat eater from 17-29. I have been eating vegetarian for 7 years now. I quit meat because my tummy couldn't handle it.

So these plant based meat are an alternative when I crave pork belly or beef gravy.

But most of my regular diet is proper vegetarian food no substitute plant based food. I consume yogurt everyday helps my digestion.

If someone could consume real meat then don't substitute it with mock meat.

But this industry along with cultured meat is going to boom. We are in the 1890s Chicago meat revolution again. Because livestock maintanence is going to become more expensive with climate change and requires a lot of resources. Imo a lot of them are going to switch to Cultured meat, plant based meat, hydroponic micro greens etc. 1890 people were furious when livestock, slaughter houses were industrialised. But commerce beats everything else
