Microsoft has updated the rules for how individuals can join the Extended Security Updates program and continue to receive Windows 10 security updates after October 14, reports Windows Latest .
Instead of having to pay the equivalent of just under 30 dollars for a year of updates, it is now sufficient to activate synchronization of system settings to the Microsoft account with Windows Backup. This provides continued updates until October 13, 2026, after which private individuals will no longer be able to receive any updates at all.
