Sync your settings and you won't have to pay.

Microsoft has updated the rules for how individuals can join the Extended Security Updates program and continue to receive Windows 10 security updates after October 14, reports Windows Latest .

Instead of having to pay the equivalent of just under 30 dollars for a year of updates, it is now sufficient to activate synchronization of system settings to the Microsoft account with Windows Backup. This provides continued updates until October 13, 2026, after which private individuals will no longer be able to receive any updates at all.

They should actually charge users for stable version without updates. Most people don't bother about their features & upgrades, and are happy with a running windows system. They still release updates multiple times a week. If the users are concerned about upgrade, they would've switched to win 11 already.

Well, Win 11 is not compatible with my old computer and millions more out there, so upgrading is not a valid option, and it is good enough to not pay for a new one that I really don`t need.
