And how do you feel abou that dream now?

I think it's something that was common among guys growing ul with an inclination towards the Computer Tech Industry, but basically working through college and even now in higher education and working tirelessly on various projects hoping it would be a big break but getting nowhere - something that always kept us going was encouraging each others dreams of making it big. Moving out to Silicon Valley and living the good life - the Eichler home, the slick and modern living, the rich and powerful friends and the wild parties.

Now i'm sitting here trying to do my dissertation work wile watching the rain fall and the cold winds outside wondering whether it will even happen at all. Most people in Tech Industry these days more worried about whether they'll even be able to have a stable job or income at all, let alone being a silicon valley big shot.

Yeah, when i was younger...

These days i dont really care much about the whole “tech bro” fantasy anymore.
Some financial stability and a bit of peace of mind works quit good for me lol.

Yes, but I don't care about education and honing skills that are math-like, exist only in your head and don't translate to anything in real world.

Trying to do this felt nihilistic to me. It felt like whatever I came up with was just bunch of text and instructions for computer..

Want to work on something advanced? You must join a team, have 20 skills, pass 1000 exams, have good mental health. You essentially need to be perfect human for capitalism. I'm the complete opposite, lowkey crazy and weird. I haven't met a person who wouldn't notice my special traits - when whole team sees it, I can't sleep, think etc. But when I'm by myself, my traits are much more useful.

Never. They always seemed like they were selling a lifestyle that even they weren’t living.
They're so occupied with coding while shroomed in high stres environment, they forget to pay rent and live in vans.

Steve Jobs died by cancer, guess why... stress major cause triggering that type of illness. This isn't confirmed or anything, I just made it up. :ROFLMAO: Bill Gates lives much longer...
