Do you design websites using the same style or different styles each time?

When you set up a website do you guys use the same kind of style? Like maybe you have a design choice that you like to use on all of your websites?

A friend of mine who is a web designer said that she likes to use the same styles on every website. You know she makes them all look kinda retro.

I know SEO guys who avoid doing this though especially with PBNs so they don't leave footprints obviously.

On personal projects I tend to use different designs, though I have my own "base" CSS framework I use across them that cover sane defaults for globals e.g html, body, headings, main, article, etc.. then tweak according to needs. I like having my own personal library of designed elements I can reuse/repurpose for other sites when needed.

For clients though that is entirely up to them... I absolutely detest the design side of web development, so I either give them a few samples to choose from that we can modify or contract a designer to help based on the client's needs.

When it comes to webdesign nowadays, my son says I`m OLD, so yeah there is that awkward statement.

Depends. I'm not a fan of "pretty", I like things that convert. With time I realized a sort of template that probably performs pretty well, I adjust it for each project, and over time I change it based on session recordings and heat maps, so most projects start similar but look pretty different after a few months.

Everyone has a design style. Even if you do something totally different there will be font spacing, sizing and colours you try to stick to.

Back in the day anything blue used to focus around #336699

So yes while visually things look different designers often have traits that you can spot between sites they worked on.

Think that goes back to what I said rather then the harsh every site is identical.

The visual side here doesn't matter I think this plays into how it's coded.

I got a pretty old fashioned view or design style. Most of my sites back in the day I guess as similar.

But then we all guilty of that.

I always try to use different styles. I feel like different niches also attract different people with different tastes.
