I've never expressed this online, but I can't stand it when people ring the doorbell or knock on the door. I actually disabled the doorbell for my house just because I find the entire concept annoying. After all, the only people who have ever used my doorbell have been unwanted pests on my property either trying to sell me stuff or ask me for something random.
But you may be wondering how I stop people from knocking on my door. After all, I can't just affix spikes to my door as a physical deterrent without causing myself issues. I can't finish building the wall around the property right now either, so it had to be something on the door specifically.
Well, I needed something weatherproof that people couldn't just open easily and proceed with knocking on the door. I considered putting up these acoustic panels I use on my interior doors, but the sun would destroy these pretty quickly.
As it turns out, the solution was right in front on me the entire time. In addition to the acoustic panels on my walls and doors in the house, I also have these magnetic thermal curtains on the other side of each door. They look like this:
You can apparently by weatherproof versions of these, so I figured I'd give these a go and put one up. The way I set it up, it will definitely stop someone from knocking on the door. I can also secure it from the other side to prevent any pests from trying to just it up and knock on the door.
"But what about the peephole?"
Who cares? I have multiple outdoor cameras I use if for whatever reason I'm curious to know who's at the door. If the cameras ever went offline, then all well.
So tell me, am I the only one who can't stand people knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell?
