Stupid questions bros but you know how some people cover their webcams when they aren’t using them? You know some people might be watching porn and are paranoid about the webcam getting hacked and ending up on a porn site or getting ransomed or something.

Have you ever known anyone this has happened to? I was thinking on it myself and I’ve not know ln a single person this happened to bros. But you still have people covering their webcams.

No. Real threat isn't being exposed naked, but having all your files encrypted. Who would worry about being exposed naked in the age of onlyfans and AI? Elon Musk maybe. Not me.

My dad was trying to fix my broken webcam(bought refurbished laptop, bag fell off shoulder on first day, f*cked)

was checking through task manager, my camera was actively on and recording

if it wasn't broken broken, I'd probably have cracked up

I'm just wondering how many of our "friends" have naked photos with us on their computers created by AI.

I don't know anyone who's been ran over by a car and died. I still look both ways before I cross the road.

Not personally no. However, back in the day I remember IRC channels that would auto-post the IP and port of open or poorly secured (often default credentials or trojaned) Internet connected webcams scanned through botnets. So the threat-risk is definitely real and still exists today, many business-grade laptops come with physical kill switches and/or covers for this reason.
