sorry not sorry if I screenshotted your BST
but man if your BST titled something stupid, have you ever questioned your life choices after reading that
I have for you.

Can't we just be nice and simple
to the point like what @LuxRiches has done?

Okay, I for sure agree with this, but this is another one of those things where I'm trying to figure out how to balance being mostly hands-off and not dictating how someone tries to sell with rules and guidelines.

One thing I am fine with doing is putting restrictions on using brand names in the titles and sales copies. I implemented this after a user created some accounts with brand names. I let him keep the names of the accounts he made as he was just having fun roleplaying, but I did put restrictions in to prevent people from signing up as "Facebook Account Seller" or something.

To prevent our marketplace from becoming... that, I can add the same thing in and cite that there are issues with potential secondary liability with Safe Harbour provisions. Something I'm doing with the rules here is putting why they're there.

Here's what I added to The Trading Post rules:
You may not use brand names, celebrity names, or other copyrighted or trademarked material in your thread titles or sales copy in a promotional or misleading way.
  • Permitted exceptions include neutral, factual use such as “Instagram accounts for sale.”
  • This rule exists to reduce the risk of secondary liability under Safe Harbour provisions.
If you can think of anything else to prohibit, I'm all ears.
