Money in a bank won't make you happy. Best case scenario, you'll be a bit less worried.
Yeah you might be right.
I suppose part of why I don't feel particularly thrilled is because of what happened to me in the last month or so...
Me and my partner have been hoping to get our own place since the turn of the year. Since March we've had our eye on a dream two bedroom apartment overlooking a really nice park down the road from here.
I live in an area where a considerable percentage of the population follow
religion n. I'm just going to say religion n to avoid any controversy personal offence to anyone here. People of
Religion n are notorious for only selfishly helping and serving their own community even though this isn't legally a state of theirs.
Guy who owns said apartment is of
Religion n. We put in an offer of £450k cash sale which is above market value cause we liked it so much. He decided to sell it to someone who matched our offer also in cash. The other buyer was also of
Religion n. Turns out the man was lying about having £450k cash and chain broke. He puts it back on the market getting our hopes back up. Seems to take forever keeping us in limbo till he finally decides he'd sell. Went through the entire process paying legal fees and so on. Just days before completion we get a call from the agent saying he's bailing from the deal. Didn't state why. Weeks later we find out he sold from right under our noses to another buyer for the same price, also of
Religion n. So fucking done with these people. I know I shouldn't let a single experience sour my perception here. But my brother has been through the same thing on two occasion over the past few years alone. In one instance, a local estate agent of
Religion n people directly prevented a sale even when the owners had directly agreed up on it.
Guess this is part of the reason I might feel bad thinking about it. Oh well, I look on the bright side, if I keep things up I could probably buy five those apartments by the time i'm 25.
Edit: sorry about the rant
