It's once a week for me tops in a typical month. But sometimes i'll eat out over the course of a day if i'm out and about for a weekend or travelling . I still try to keep it on the healthier side and fairly light though - porridge at the coffee shop, large salad instead of fries, green smoothie instead of sadas and so on.

One of my housemates eats the same veg calzone, side salad and fries from the same pizza place nearly everyday. Don't now how he does it.

Once every couple of months for me.

I just prefer cooking these days.

Out food doesn’t have to be unhealthy, but it is expensive and I make the stuff I like better than any restaurant does.

I never grew my own food.
I eat healthy, unhealthy mix.
I didn't care about my health, money, anything. Being from a family of lost souls, my wrrrr mind lost navigation, but I got some of it back with good people like Dopious. :coffee:
I'm on some track and I like the balance, so I eat to reduce risk of colon cancer or heart attack, although knowing my last 10 years, I think of buying accessories to analyze parameters and call help in case. :ROFLMAO:
For real, food is not the source of emotional satisfaction and it's a tool at best, not the goal of our lives,

I eat mostly takeaway, our fridge is literally stuffed with it, I order every couple of days. Also online groceries, mostly for fruit and salad ingredients but restaurants also have nice salads. My sister used to cook soup every once in a while, but she's tired and I don't want her to be overworked so we prefer takeout, she still does some salads because she's bored 😂 and it's easier/quicker than a warm meal. Also ran out of gas recently and there's a shortage and maid cleaned our pots and pans (for gas cooking) but didn't our electric owen and rice cooker (sis somehow knows how to make soups in that lol) so hopefully maid will clean these in a couple days... Still, I prefer my sister to rest rather than do heavy cooking. We usually learn that a bit later in life since not essential life skill. Tbh quality of restaurant food is so good nowadays, especially in Asia, and Poland has these diet readymade lunchboxes that it's possible to eat completely healthy with takeaway (but I admit we also eat fries and muffins in addition to healthy food, so not completely clean, it's hard to resist 🙁). The way we eat if I compare how much ingredients cost it's not cheaper to cook by ourselves... Unless we maybe ate only rice or pasta whole day. Ingredients cost too 🙁. If I knew what food to store for emergencies and it'd require being cooked then I'd learn how to cook because survival but in day to day life during peacetime it's a non-essential skill. Restaurants actually accepted takeout orders remotely during the flood before cellural network died! So you can eat like this during tought times too, shockingly enough (storage is a problem, I think something dry that you prepare later would be better for long term storage).

After my b*tching I forgot about this thread, grabbed a curry bacon bit of chips because the delis were closed

I am a b*tch, could've done so much stuff with the places I was

I have stopped eating food from outside but I have decided to eat out only during bday parties or more like once a month

I was curious do you guys visit the same restaurants or like to visit different ones to know the taste?

Because sometimes the same dish tastes different so...

I don't think I follow. But it sounds quite concerning. What happened?

I prefer to stick with the ones I know. But have one for each occasion because not everyone is the type you'd take to a five star hotel restuarant if you're the host. It's because I just like familiarity - you know the food quality, prices, and also appreciste a decent ambience too. Last time I tried being a bit adventurous when out of town I ended up having the worst pizza i've ever had. I mean you could stick one of those garbage oven pizzas in, undercooked it a bit so it's still a bit soggy and it still would'v been better. And we were sitting on these tiny tables and the odd shop floor spacing meant the table area was close to the toilets where it just wreaked of bleach.

My biggest gripe with going out is (and this will be arrogant) if I go out and pay good money it has to be on par or better than what I can do at home. Other wise I just think whats the point.

There's nothing more I hate when someone recommends something like "oh you got to go here and try this burger" and you go there and it's just some cheap processed shit. Nope. That's not for me.

It doesn't have to be snobby place either as long as it's honest and good food I'm happy other wise I hate it.

It's the same when we have a take away which is rare - I hate it because it's over priced crap.

Take aways maybe once - twice a year THATs it. Sometimes it can be more if I'm unwell as I do all the cooking or if I'm out and wife and kids want to eat they order something but as a rule it's just once a year really.

As for going out:

Sundays - Every other Sunday we go out for dinner so like today will be a dinner out. Go to the same places almost because what we get is quality and I enjoy it.

Once a month we go out as a family and try someplace new on a Saturday night.

Once a month wife and I have a date night and we go out we rotate to say 4-5 places we go to regular as its good food, good wine, the owners there know us and one restaurant we are very friendly with the owner and management and often have things cooked for us off menu which is nice :)

Every Thursday (although thats becoming rare now) I'll have a 2 course pub lunch

How's my attempt at making a cheeseburger recently?

Need sliced cheese on there mate not sure what that is but. Very good ha :)

Not a lot at all. I like cooking my own food. Tastes much better.
