Office Outlaw primarily uses an ignore feature, which essentially makes a user you don't want to deal with invisible to you on the forum.

However, there are some cases where just ignoring a member doesn't feel like enough.

As voted on by the community, there is now a 2-way block feature on the forum. The way this works is the same way it works on other social media sites: when you block a user, neither of you can see each other's past or future content on the forum. Any DMs sent will not be received. Both users are invisible to each other.

How To Block A User
  1. Go to the support desk.
  2. Open a ticket in the "Block User Request" category under "Account".
  3. Tell the staff which member's you'd like to block.
That's it.

When you block a user on OO, bear in mind that just as it can only be added by a staff member, it can only be undone by a staff member as well. At some point, we'll look into a 2-way block that members can use themselves.

@Zwielicht is there a limit applied?

So for example if somoene decides to block x user. Then asked to unblock x and reblock and so on..

Is it a one and done feature or do you draw the line under it?

Or maybe that's something to consider?

Edit.

If you 2 way. Does all comments and posts from that user get hidden I. E historical posts?

There's currently no limit, but it was something I considered in the suggestion thread.
I'd need some time to work out what those circumstances are exactly, but we just wouldn't want someone blocking the whole forum for the hell of it.
If it begins looking like an issue or causing too much work for the staff, one will be imposed.

Yes.
