The bit on data. I personally agree is wrong. I don't want to pay a staff member to colour tabs and what not.
I can look at automated data and see if there are problems there is no "data" & "insight" differences either you can interpret it or not. Seems like he has department heads who don't know how to read or understand the data he is collecting for his company which seems to be a education or management issue rather than a data vs insight issue.
We automated the numbers coming in because people can't "pad" or "fudge" them.
We have a meeting everything Monday just like in the video and we review each others data. So staff tend to know numbers and so does everyone else. Its automated and they can just open and look at it. Entering it vs automation I don't get the difference here. If I asked a staff member the numbers on a Friday even if they entered it manually on a Monday they would still open the document to look..
The "Metric Owner" bit as well just seems like a shit way of calling someone a team leader or a manager of a department or whatever.
