I also hate the BBC

Thing is. It's never been Googles job to send traffic to the websites anyway. All they want is people. If it goes AI only I dont see what ads do for them either so it's going to hurt them. You will maybe see google introduce banner adverts that would be the only way I can see it working really.

Yeah I worry about my companies future. But I honestly think things will flip and companies like mine will go back to print like they used to.

I always though the internet would evolve to be app based.

You got an app for your search or questions. Shopping app. And so on. But I can't see that being the case no more.

I don't think SEO is dead because how does e-commerce and that play into this your not just talking about the downfall of little companies but your talking the end of billion dollar SAAS companies also. Shopify etc all the sites that it serves, once they go whats their business model? Fuck all.

I think Amazon is big enough to survive it.

I just can't see how we evolve past it really. I got ideas. But every day something comes out to alter that.

Something will come up to kick back against it. It always does. There will be a % of people that still want to search and go and get stuff but how that will function I don't know.

I do worry about my future and my companies future.

I just don't know what will happen to be honest. I worry for my children. All I can do is buy property and land. AI can't take that (yet) and try to help them get a leg up when they need it.

AI is great. Just no one is really thinking long term and the effects it has. It's just the Wild West and the gold rush is AI.

Universal Basic Income won't come in till it's too late but then the old motto of you will own nothing and be happy seems to to be the case.

EDIT

Reading more of the article.

I've always said that news and publisher sites etc are fucked. There will always be a need for journalist to fact check stuff, but if your main source of income or any site is information based and need the traffic you are fucked sadly. It goes for recipes, information, news etc. The whole publisher space is going to flip.

I think what people need to shift to is push and go pro - human not AI because in a world where everything is the same, the imperfection of humans and making will become more desirable

There's still going to be a place for conventional search engines, After all, SEO is more than just Google's search, and some people are going to want to do things the old way for a long time.

What about working towards being featured in AI responses? Google ones still have links to websites it used info from. And last time I asked Grok about my taxes it recommended me popular tax advisor that is all around Google and Youtube anyway.

@t2van is the type of person that just makes everyone in the room sit down calmly and listen when he's speaking 😄

This is one way but again for certain sites the end is coming.

I've figured out how to get in the AI mentions anyway. It's just a case now of building it up to work for everything we rank for. The trick is dealing with it like normal SEO to be honest. Just go after all the easy AI results and you start to naturally get recommended in the harder stuff... That's it.

Also it loves tables.

Don't worry guys, AI won't replace us all, proof:
Enjoy, I clicked it myself. 🍰
Very good and very technical.

But small cake. Id be pissed if I ordered that.

There are a few creators that do AI to real life stuff. John Malecki is a good one only because I like his editing style. There are more though.

Not sure how it’s going to pan out. I admit that i’ve been doing this when researching new topics, just to tread the waters. But I wonder how many people will be using Google AI results as some comprehensive resource to the point they’ll avoid clicking serp links altogether together though.

And then there’s the training sets. If you're trying to proxy web pages as much as possible to stop user from clicking through to serp results, i’m not sure if using reddit and quora links as ‘credible’ information is the way to go about doing it… ‘according to reddit user crack-head-1211…’

So I don’t know where they’re going with all this. It will be interesting to see how it all develops

A.I being here since 1940's but official year they give to 1950.

We in general don't know what will happen lets use a few google example from Google idea for A.I recommendations

Pregnant women got to smoke 2 cigs for healthy baby but 1 cig or more than two is unhealthy.

Super glue is how to cook a pizza.

A lot of the inputs are wrong in A.I lets make it simple lets say 25% is 100% wrong that still means websites or other things must be used for correct information.

Next can A.I actually make a profit most reports I heard chat gpt seems to losing crazy money per month over high costs.

Next can a A.I actually win will it be open a.i or Grok or deepseek or something else we don't know.

Governments have talked about making it illegal for example chat gpt illegal in China or Russia I know both got own versions but it's still a interesting area to think if it will turn illegal or not.

A lot of information wrong for example a friend told me his 21 year old son broke his new computer by following Google A.i advice.

Some people are already anti A.I meaning they will still use websites.
