Speaking as a reform voter. It was important to do this.
I don’t know who is behind the epidemic of bot farms or whether they are genuine idiots (i’m sure they are at least a few that jump on the bandwagon) spreading false information with odd and overly dramatic white nationalist sentiments across social media in favour of reform, but it hurts the cause - a lot, and portrays us as the worst thing since hitler when in reality a good two thirds of reform MPs are ex-tories.
We are moderately right at best by american standards and the old parties like BNP at least. And honestly people will start using these fake facts and figures about the driver being a muslim migrant or whatever that they took at face value on sm to make their point and end looking like fucking idiots when they get fact checked and any credibility goes out the window completely.
Take what you said about the southport scum for example - people were jumping all over him being a muslim asylum seeker and what not when on x and fb something that stayed with a lot of people when in reality he’s from rwanda which is an almost entirely christian nation with very strong anti-islamic sentiments.
Another ‘protest’ based on no shortage of misinformation and attracting the worst kind of people that’ll just end up vandalising streets and litting greggs for sausage rolls is the last thing you’d want if you want ti be taken the least bit seriously. Whether it’s CCP bots, Russian bots (Russia hated Uk a lot!) or whatever behind the troll farms the more people let these bots rock the boat on sm with their lies, misinformation and fake feigned support for reform, the worse reform will look and the less stability and credibility they will get.
