Answered Mentions notification issue

I got mentioned in a thread by @Outlaw

I found it by chance and realised I never got notified about it.

I went back and double checked the entire notification roster, but found no mention notification.

Is this a bug or has been knowingly turned off?

I had problems tagging Zwie around the time I tagged you, does seem to be something slowing something down...

I don't know why I thought it, but my webs were acting up - I thought things weren't actually getting sent

It could be because the post was edited, and you were only tagged in the edit.

Z tagged me and I've not received the alert notifications for the mentions.

It could be because the post was edited, and you were only tagged in the edit.

That's easy to figure out

That’s because I edited it in after the post was made. Members can do the same with their posts.

When you add a mention through an edit; an alert isn’t sent out. I can see if there’s a way to have alerts sent out after an edit, though.

@Impulse didn’t get that alert when I added it in through an edit.

This is consistent across Xenforo forums, it seems.

Duplicate - No notification on mention after post edit

Steps to reproduce: Write post Edit that post Add user mention in edited post: @someuser Save post The user 'someuser' does not receive notification about that mention.

As designed - Edit @mentions don't trigger notifications

Not sure if this is intentional. if you edit a post, and include a new @mention or QUOTE, it doesn't trigger a notification for that user.

The last thread has one of the developers saying that it's like this by design. There doesn't seem to be a way to enable it.
