CoPilot Microsoft Scales Back AI Goals Because Almost Nobody Is Using Copilot

This reminds me of when Google released that train-wreck of a social network years ago, Google+. Google pushed out all kinds of advertising and even went as far as auto-signing up all their Gmail users up for it. They even had the audacity to say it was the "largest social network in the world" after they did this.

Microsoft is doing the exact same thing now. I see all these ads for it everywhere and they shoved it on as many PCs as they could, but I still don't use it and still don't know what it does. Sure, it could be useful, but too much advertising come across as desperation and shoving it on to people's computers is off-putting. After everything is said and done, fewer people want to give it a chance.

Because of current dumb management, so many people left Windows 10 for Linux, which how many open to debate but I would guess at least 1 million.

Still, as of November 2025, an estimated 1 billion devices are still running Windows 10, representing approximately 42.6% of the global Windows market share.

Yeppp but I wouldn't dramatize with the whole trying to dominate desktop thing... Unixes are already dominating smartphone market (Nokia almost stopped existing and is very, very obscure now because they tried pushing Windows Mobile and nobody wanted that!). Every smartphone is either Linux/Android or BSD/iPhone. Even if that's castrated Linux with no root access by default we still won lol, more people use smartphones on a daily basis than computers nowadays.

Yeppp, a lot of people are familiar with Windows so they prefer to use that. Which is exactly why Windows has problems - too many changes! People want to use what they're used to.

Same, I buy refurbs with no OS installed. Funnily enough my last laptop came with Windows preinstalled even though I didn't check it and didn't pay for that 😂. I guess it was the default 😂.

True I was more meaning it's very hard to actually prove how many people use Linux, plus you get other options as well even templer OS some use

Well, since there is no more changes coming in Win 10, there is no problems.
