@Avenger messaged us with an idea on how to deal with the constant BHW bashing problem that many of you have been sending reports about. This has resulted in some changes to the forum and the TOS that all of you need to be aware of.

Just to address the elephant in the room, yes, we know that this has been a growing problem. We generally don't like restricting what others have to say, but this problem has grown out of control for far too long now. In fact, we've even lost some active members over this recently, as many of you saw. It doesn't matter if anyone thought they were silly for requesting a ban, the fact that any contributing members hit that breaking point in the first place is something we take seriously.

Previously, we created the Online Communities section and just stopped those discussions from appearing on the homepage, but this only resulted in more threads being created and the problem essentially just being hidden from view. In hindsight, it didn't work out the way we wanted it to, but that's because it didn't address the actual problem of these bashing threads being created, becoming extremely negative, and bleeding into other threads.

We're going to take a different approach by creating this new rule, but also in how we address this type of content.

There's a megathread in the Social Media section called "[MEGATHREAD] BHW Discussion". This is a move similar to what they do on Reddit when a topic starts dominating a subReddit, but all existing threads on this topic have now been moved under this thread, and all future threads and posts about it have been moved there as well. This way, our moderators can keep the discussion all in one place and moderate based on the new rule that's been implemented.

The New Rule
We still allow the discussion of other communities, this new rule just adds some clarification on what type of content we'll moderate and how our moderators will deal with content that violates this rule.
2.13 Discussion of Other Communities

Members are allowed to discuss or criticise other communities here on Office Outlaw. However, repetitive complaint content, personal vendettas, personal attacks against staff of other communities, and drama-posting are not allowed and will be removed from the platform. When appropriate, members should use existing mega threads to discuss specific communities. Content outside of these mega threads will be merged into existing mega threads.
The moderators have already moved the existing threads under the mega thread. If you find any content that bled into off-topic threads, feel free to report this content and the moderators will move it to the mega thread or remove the content if it violates the new rule.
