Star Citizen has crowdfunded over $800m and is still in Alpha.
Just to put that in perspective.
Snow white ( 2025) production cost was ~209m ( without marketing cost)
Red dead Redemption 2: Massively popular Western was merely between $170m and $240m (without marketing cost)
Avatar 2 was made with a production budget of $460m, and that just because WETA FX had to make new tech for water FX
So up until GTA VI gets released this will remain the most expensive game that has been ever made.
