We got some iptv cases judged here too with sentences of around 3 years and $10M - $20M in damages in our small 10.5M country.

Personally I would never get in to that niche of money making.

I hope that guy doesn't end up in a cell with Johnny Somali. That would just be cruel

I've been semi-interested in the IPTV niche recently, but stories like this keep me out of it. Canada is a great place to be an end user of this stuff because they don't gaf. I stream and download everything I can get my hands on with no VPN. Selling is a different story, though. I live near here https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/nova-scotia-man-illegal-streaming-empire-1.7112573

I remember Beast being massive a few years back.

Piracy is a risky business. You always stand on the edge of a cliff. Moreover, it's difficult to find absolutely safe domain and hosting providers. Hiding money trail is a big headache. Everything comes with a cliche.

Does not surprise me it happening.

I heard of more blackhat SEO's doing similar in countrys without any copyright laws connected to the other country so they stay in the country for running the site .
