Posting discussion topics, also known as threads, is the main way discussions happen on forums such as Office Outlaw.

Whether you're a seasoned forum user or new to forums entirely, this quick guide is designed to answer some common questions you may have about posting threads.

What Should I Post About?
Anything you want to discuss! Whether you want the opinions or thoughts of others or you just want to share something funny or interesting, starting topics is the first and foremost way to do it.

This is primarily a black hat internet marketing forum, but members here often enjoy engaging in off-topic discussions in The Saloon and related topics such as technology.

Where Should I Post?
We're not hardasses here about posting in the wrong section. Simply pick the most fitting section and post a thread.

In the event that there's a better section for your thread, a moderator will just move it to the correct section.

If you really want to know how to determine the best section for your topic, there's a separate guide on that here.

What Prefix Should I Use?
Similarly to picking the right section, either use none or the best fitting prefix. Again, there's no punishment for getting it wrong.

What if I Don't Get Any Responses?
Don't worry about that. Sometimes, the people who would be interested in your topic aren't online at the time you posted.

The main thing is that it doesn't hurt to try posting a topic.
