Privacy Signal, DuckDuckGo, and NordVPN threaten to exit Canada if metadata surveillance law passes

As the article says “ Canada's metadata retention bill is the latest government attempt to build surveillance into the internet's infrastructure”.

If they’re serious about privacy then it makes sense for them to pull out of Canada.

At the same time I know there are some privacy concerns with nordvpn so now I’m wondering if it’s just some publicity stunt on their end.

That and the cost of rebuilding servers to save loggs combined with their reputation is the real reason they are pulling out.

My first thought is that NordVPN has nothing to do with privacy!
