Hackers have broken into CGI Sweden, which develops software for many government agencies.

On Thursday evening, hackers from a group calling themselves Byte To Breach shared the source code for Sweden's e-government platform. The platform is called Mina Engagementmang and is developed by CGI Sverige. It is used by the Swedish Tax Agency and several other government agencies to handle cases.

Dark Web Informer was the first to report the hack , and International Cyber Digest has published additional information on X.

In addition to the source code for Mina Engagemang, the hackers have come across documentation regarding the services Signe (digital document and agreement signing) and e-ID, i.e. the system that enables login with Bank ID on the websites of the Swedish Tax Agency and other authorities. They also claim to have obtained a representative register containing personal data about the people authorized to represent various authorities in contact with CGI Sweden, and various other data such as passwords and encryption keys.

Worse, the hackers claim to have accessed databases of personal data about Swedish citizens. The group is giving away the source code for the e-government platform for free but will sell the personal data separately. Whether it is genuine, how many people it covers, and why it was on an internal test server, remains to be seen.

Na, but at the most 7-10M as it seems BankID details was included. The supplier is a $600M revenue company here in Sweden, you think they would have their fckn security done right.
