The way AI is entering to the world is dangerous and beneficial, I want to know your views as currently world wide stock markets are shaking due to sell off in IT sector.
What will happen to the jobs, and other things is really concerning as all sectors are somehow related to each other.
Though who all are coping with AI it is beneficial as it is cutting cost and helping to automate easily, a website that was needing 1K usd is now at 100 USD or so.
For me it is highly concerning as I am in India and most of the IT companies here are totally surviving with the outsourcing or call center sort of businesses. I guess the automated outbound calls and other things will have a big big impact on these sectors due to robotic calls and other things

I don't think the mass sell off is down to AI

I think jobs will go but not or anywhere close to what people are claiming like 2027 white collar jobs will go. IF that was really the case id have expected impact now and there would be more talk and more cases of people loosing jobs, if they all go in 1 hit like over night then yeah the world is fucked.

Although there is a shift in say automation adaption still takes time. Regardless of the impact or how quick it will get introduced.

Internet marketing and social media adverts haven't replaced TV adverts as quick or as instant as people claimed. Machinery didn't replace a skill work force that quickly during the industrial revolution. Some industries like textiles I think saw instant transformation while others saw disruption over decades.

I think thats what will happen with AI. Look at automated trucking that was going to come and kill the industry and then the wider impact is all the truck stops, cafes and so on, it's not happened because no one can really trust it yet.

Having AI write an article or code something to having it replace 100-1000 people over night will require balls of steel for some companies it won't happen like that for some it will. Others will be gradual.

How will AI control a classroom if it replaces teachers? How does AI deal with nursery kids to tie up shoe laces. It can't.

Can it replace call centres and entry level coders. Yes.

I/We use AI a ton in work it's cut down my copywriters bill by 80%

I think your small jobs as you mentioned outsourcing to India and whatever is going to see a hit but there will be a cross connection of work that will need manually doing such as data entry vs data collection.

Stock market is dropping because US gov can't hold it up anymore. Something got broken on 10th October and it's been just chop ever since, which are the absolutely worst trading conditions.

People can't afford shit, aren't buying anything, plenty of stocks have been in downtrend for months. Gov not releasing data or making up fake job numbers, manipulating FED chair to lower rates or else we will sue you, etc.

Just as we can live on a coffee and cigarettes for a few days, market can live on this bullshit for a while as well, but eventually, it will catch up with you. So bottom line, this dump has been written in a stars for quite some time.

What will happen? Not sure exactly, but the next decade will be really shit. I think the next generation, or the one after, might have a hard time wrapping their head around how have we managed to live in such peaceful times with barely any turmoil for almost a century.

I will sound like I belong to a certain group of people with a rather limited genome, but - Get land, get guns, get ammo, learn how to grow your own food, learn skills that will come in handy in case you have to rely on your community. Ofc not even this will help you if it gets really bad, but it's a good start.

I might have slightly diverged though with this answer. :)

Agree with all this.

Yeah and I think they will find it strange that for a time you could go out and buy and or finance whatever you wanted with relative ease vs what will end up coming.

Nothing wrong with any of that, it's the right mindset to have currently.
