As all of you know, now that we've gotten the community side of our forum developed, we want to start focusing on our Trading Post. I started a discussion on this in April, so this is a result of that.
Currently, the Trading Post is using a system that, in all honesty, needs to be overhauled. This basic system was in place just whilst we were getting things on the community set up.
Pre-Approvals
This is an idea I've wanted to try out for a long time now. You see, one problem with the current is that someone might only want to get Sapphire to have a sales listings. However, if their service does not pass the review (and this is a lot more likely here given our more stringent review process), this will result in refunds or even chargebacks.
We want to prevent this scenario as much as possible, so we're looking into setting up a pre-approvals section in our Trading Post. Members who meet the requirements for Sapphire can submit a listing, get a pre-approval, and then buy Sapphire and pay for the listing. The pre-approval will be good for 30 days.
Simplifying The Existing Rules
Upon further review, much of this can be consolidated. Admittedly, when I set the Trading Post, I just did things the way I did before because it's just how I write. But, I believe in approving upon my work, so that's what I'll be doing here. After all, nobody wants to read a whole novel just to get their service listed.
Service-Specific Rules In Each Trading Post Section
The full guide is useful in the sense of having all of the information all in one place. However, realistically, traders only need to read the first 2 posts and whichever chapter pertains to their service.
In order to make things easier on their Trader, we're creating consolidated versions of the Trading Post Rules stickied in each section, so each service provider knows exactly what they need to get their service listed. Basically, a more user-friendly version of what we already have.
Allowing E-books
We will be allowing E-books, but they'll go in the misc section for now. We need to develop a review process for these so that that we don't get someone submitting a 1-page Word document and calling it an e-book.
Allowing SMM Panels
SMM panels will be allowed, but not reseller panels. I have, in rare cases, tested SMM panels that were not reseller panels, and these have been fantastic services.
