There are cases where a member may request a ban. There are a variety of reasons for this decision such as the following:
  • Wanting time away from the distraction of forums.
  • Disagreements with the forum or specific members.
  • Their account becoming inactive due to lifestyle changes.
  • No longer wanting to be part of the community, but not wanting their account deleted.
Regardless of the reason, voluntary account bans are a thing. Members can request this through the support desk, all we ask is that you aren't flippant about the decision, such as asking to be banned, then unbanned, and then banned again shortly after.

When your account is banned by request, we will change your user title to "Banned By Request" to let others in the community know that it was voluntary and not for reasons pertaining to rule violations.

When you want your voluntary ban to be lifted, simply log into your account and submit a ticket to our support desk as banned members can still submit tickets.

These are obviously much easier to understand as opposed to 'banned for doxxing 'or ' banned for extorting ' too.

wow, people do this!

In my case, this is how I quit any platform/forum:

What about accounts voluntarily banned X years ago, will those be auto deleted under GDPR?
