@Impulse and I finished a 16 mile hike about 5 hours ago. It took us about 8 1/2 hours to complete as we ran into some hiccups with a couple of the trails.
It was a bit of spur of the moment thing, but I was watching this YouTube video the other day where some guy jogged 12 miles every day for a hundred days. This reminded me that we needed to diversify our training, so yesterday when we noticed it was cloudy, we decided to try a longer hike today.
We don’t normally hike, but it’s an effective full body workout, so it showed us what areas we need to improve.
I’ve posted some pictures from the hike below. I don’t have any night photos because my phone battery ran out in the middle of the hike and we needed to conserve the battery on @impulse’s phone.
One thing I will say is that I mentioned in another thread recently that I was working on my middle splits. I actually managed this and have nearly managed to do the front splits, but both of these have helped out tremendously with walking, running, and hiking. I’ve done endurance training before, but it’s far easier now thanks to working on both of those splits.
I don’t know if anyone else here goes on hikes, but feel free to share some of your own photos as well!
