Bro we all saw that dispute thread with @Festinger Vault on BHW.

Question though but what happens to him here? On one hand the staff there clearly wanted his ass gone and people were requesting refunds on shit they bought and used for years. But ya know on the other hand he tech owes ppl refunds.

Not trying to start anything but I think this is something that needs to be asked cause I wouldn't be surprised if this kinda thing happens again at some point.

I'll wait for a staff member to respond but it seems like a fucked situation.

Doesn't this make him a scammer? Even if it happens on another forum I'm not sure if a scammer should be allowed here.

At the same time it's like BHW wouldn't remove someone from there for scamming on OO so it shouldn't be the other way around.

I don't think there's an easy solution to the problem.

That's my issue right there too bro.

Also he's a founding member here so it's like damn that sucks if he gets removed from here.

The staff members discussed this already and we came to the conclusion that it's best not to go based on the procedures and decisions of another forum. After all, we can only handle issues on our small corner of the internet.

This doesn't mean we're impressed by the situation at all, but we can't address it unless someone starts a thread in The Tribunal section so we can mediate the issue ourselves and make sure we do our own due process.

If anyone has any thoughts on this or thinks it should be handled differently, then please feel free to discuss it in this thread.

Yeah bro that makes sense. Can't go based on what BHW decides and it's better that you gotta look into it yourselves if someone starts a thread in your dispute section.

You want my opinion? @Festinger Vault had every opportunity to handle that situation openly and honestly like he did with the lawsuit but he didn't. It looks to me like he scammed a bunch of people. It may not have been his original intention but it's what happened.

If it were me as a mod I'd ban him here too. The optics of him being a member here after all that aren't great and he makes all of us look bad. I'll respect the staff's decision but I at least want to voice my opinion.

@Preying Mantis i was banned on BMH for calling mods and staff a cunt because they accepted and believed in destroying someones business..

I didn't stand for that. Called anyone that does a cunt. And got banned.

Does that mean I should be banned here?

Or do you agree with that and maybe you should be banned instead of me.

Regardless there's two sides to a story. Far as I'm concerned BHW stories are biased at best.

So before castings stones and doubt let's hear other people first.

This place is supposed to be better and as far I'm concerned is why 95% of us is here if it's not. Then bye.

I was only asking since this was a case with a shit list ban.

But nah bro BHW can go fuck themselves. I don't trust their decisions one bit especially after those random fucking demotions and bans they then went back on this year with the execs.

Better that the staff here look into it themselves but they already said they would if someone starts a shit list here.

100%

What goes on there does not reflect here and visa versa far I'm concerned

What if the members who ended up getting scammed on bhw end up here and they see the same member who scammed them, now can they raise the dispute here?

@Zwielicht
The Tribunal section and the rules of that section actually already address this exact situation, but I'll go over it in more detail anyway.
The Tribunal section here on Office Outlaw is a place where you can submit a thread to ask our moderators for help in settling a dispute. Members can start submit a thread in this section if they have a dispute with another member of the forum, regardless of whether or not the transaction took place directly on this platform. What matters is that business was conducted between two members. Please note that this does not mean someone can sign up just to start a thread in The Tribunal section, which is why only Registered+ members can submit threads here.
The short answer is if they weren't already a member here and they sign up to try starting a Tribunal thread, they won't be able to for the reason in the quote above.

However, if someone is an existing (Registered+) member here, they can dispute the transaction using OO as well if it wasn't resolved elsewhere.

This is done because we want to address issues disputes between members, but we don't want someone who wasn't even part of this community to sign up just to use us to get a refund.

I'd like to understand what's up with charging credit cards, but care very little about the lifetime deal.

If I were BTB I'd ban those who requested them after using Festinger for over 6 months because that's the real scam here.

It's a hard one... He's very obviously scamming people but it's also ridiculous to 'transfer' bans from another forum. So I can understand why admins don't want to immediately ban him here.
