What is going on with FestingerVault / Grootmade? Fraud?

I just got sent four invoices to pay. Thankfully, I’m using VCCs, so he couldn’t charge me. Did anyone else get the same today? Keep in mind that his service has shut down (now it’s called Grootmade), and I haven’t been his customer for over a year, yet he still tried to charge me.

Some people think it's because of what happened with the lawsuit he lost that he's now going around trying to get money anyway he can.

Personally I think he's been doing this for longer than that. FV was going downhill since before that lawsuit and I was hearing around the time it went downhill too.

I don't know if this'll work but I think the guy is in Europe. Try sending him a GDPR data deletion request and make sure he removes any info he has on you. If he refuses then report him here to the ICO. They'll fine him big time for any violations.

This goes for anyone else reading this. You've got to let fuckers like this know they can't get away with this.

If anyone is being charged, they should be able to initiate a chargeback through their credit card. Report it as fraud, and you will get your money back.

I don't know what this guy is winging about. He made a ton of money nulling other people's hardwork and then 'advertising' hos stuff by spamming the shit out of like every platform out there rather than pay for proper advertising.

Little effort. And little overhead compared to the devs and platforms he consistently ripping off. It was a good run for what it was. Needs to stfu up and find a new gig at this point or he very well might end up in jail by the sounds of it.

Did he lose? It says that they reached an out of court settlement here and Automattic even paid for the legal costs that were incurred. That article is an interessting read. Doesn't put him or his ethics in a very positive light to say the least. Never jad any dealing woth him thankfully but not surprised to hear about all this after reading that.
