You got BIG BALLS??

Tell us what the baldest ( blackhat ) marketing stunt you did that worked in your ventures thru the years, to inspire others.

Be bolder is the theme in this thread.

Ps. Don`t derail this thread with ferrets, it ain`t the fckn Salon, I will report any derailed answer FFS.

I used to run the PPC department of a Forex company back in 2015/6 and we were about to launch a new self deposit brand. I wanted to gather some data before we launched our campaigns so we applied as affiliates at a competing brand (under a fake company name, of course) to see what works.

So we sent them our conversion tracking code from Google Ads (AdWords at the time) and we waited for it to get the data from their entire affiliate and in house PPC team, who all sent traffic to the same funnel.

A few days later our audience list was already full of depositor data - 1000s of people (back then Google created audiences from conversion codes automatically, as well as created similar audiences (Google's version of lookalike)).

Then, we just started with a remarketing campaign getting FTDs in an extremely saturated and competitive area for a fraction of what it would have costed, using our biggest competitor's data.

I remember your post at the other place about extension that switched ads to your employer's.
This was a cool project.
The idea was to save some of the huge budget we had for remarketing (over $10K per day), assuming that because the audience was so strong, the ad placement wouldn't be that important (which was somewhat true, but wasn't that important for reasons you'll understand a bit later).

So the company was a forex company that had a few huge brands is different areas around the world. What we did was to promote a free browser extension giving our users real time prices of gold, some commodities, oil, silver, currency pairs, and some stocks. Beind the scenes, it was an ad injection extension that inserted our own ads instead of other sites' AdSense ads. Ended up saving a but loads of money, as well as growing our revenue from remarketing by a lot because we got so many extra impressions.
