I have an entire workstation kitted out in my bedroom I use as a side hustle, maybe might start working from home full time. I live with my parents right now. My girlfriend moved in too and there’s always some guests coming and going.
I suppose pros would be:
- No commuting. Seriously that’s up to 3+ plus hours a day for some people gone.
- no additional travelling or business costs - rent, rates, bills etc
- no need to even get dressed on weekend. I cam literally roll out of bed and start work in my boxers of I wanted.
Cons
- Family and froends tend not to take your work as seriously. Just spent a week entertaining my cousin, coming and going in to my room as he pleased whey gf was at work. Just telling me to stop browsing aimlessly and get out of the house.
- Related to the above, you get called from everything to take your gran to the doctors to going to the shop for bread and milk. My dad insisted I come down and help him carry the groceries in to house just as I was in the middle of doing something inportant. Constant jibba jabba from girlfriend when i’m trying to concentrate and so on.
Makes me wonder whether it’s really worth it working from home.
